Billing and Payment Options
My Warranty

Flexible Billing
Wherever possible, I recommend that you put all parts & material on your personal
or company charge card. I do not mark up parts and my professional discount is passed
on to you. Many business’s hide large portions of their labor cost in marked up parts.
My system saves you money, gains rewards and keeps you aware of the actual cost of
your project. Sometimes a cheap but key part will effectively have a big labor charge to
track it down, but I try to avoid that.
My Hourly Rate
I carefully document all time spent on your project at my hourly rate of $85. The hours
are posted portal to portal my shop in High Ridge Missouri. I do not charge a minimum
for a service call and if you are geographically nearby, your effective service call fee
will be less than where travel/mileage (@ IRS rate) is involved. Shop work, research,
technical writing, fabrication or installation/repairs are all billed by this formula.
Dangerous Area Work In dangerous or overseas projects, I apply a mission specific
cost strategy. I also reserve the right to decline any situation, for my own reasons.
Beyond court orders, I respect my clients privacy and preserve their good names.
Expenses
I bill all expenses, including food/lodging/transportation and special clothing or tool
requirements. I also am open to Customer Furnished Items (including in house labor)
when this is economical for you. Everything I bill regarding expenses are carefully
detailed and invoiced from the supplier. Since I do not “mark up or resell parts”, you
will find no hidden labor or charges on my invoices, only actual labor.
I warranty my labor for a 90-day period upon
completion of each segment of my work. All
parts, contract labor and material may be
covered by the respective suppliers, but not
by me. If such a furnished part or labor fails
within my 90-warranty period I will install it or
supervise the people doing the warranty at no
charge to you. If the part is not covered, you
must purchase it and I will install it at no
charge to you. I am very flexible on problems
within reasonable proximity after the end of
my warranty period.

If you are out of my greater St. Louis area,
we can make special arrangements where you
pay travel/lodging/expenses, which are related
to getting me to your facility or home. For
your economy, I am open to “client furnished
assets” in these matters (such as your
preferred hotels, airlines etc.).
Our Rates
Estimates
All of my work is custom in nature and not competitively comparable. When you need
that kind of a solution, I recommend other contractors. I bill our initial consultation
(not a free estimate) at my hourly rate as a stand-alone service. This bill is due and
payable at the completion of our consultation. After careful evaluation of your issue,
I can give you a fixed estimate. If you elect to proceed with my suggestions, I will
deduct the consultation hours from your first bill. I also track actual hours and if they
come out lower than my fixed estimate (they usually do), I bill you the lower figure.
